What to do if my payment is delayed?

Updated over a week ago

Payments can sometimes take longer due to bank processing times or additional checks.

If you transact in USD, be aware that payments can be delayed due to US public holidays.

On U.S. public holidays, domestic and cross-border USD payments may experience delays because:

  • Banks and clearing systems (such as Fedwire and ACH) do not process transfers.

  • Settlement cycles are paused until the next business day.

  • Incoming and outgoing payments may show as “pending” until processing resumes.

Tip: Payments initiated right before or during a holiday will typically settle on the next U.S. business day.

The main U.S. federal holidays that can impact payment and settlement schedules are:

  • New Year’s Day – January 1

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day – the third Monday in January

  • Presidents Day – the third Monday in February

  • Memorial Day – the last Monday in May

  • Juneteenth National Independence Day – June 19

  • Independence Day – July 4

  • Labor Day – the first Monday in September

  • Columbus Day (Indigenous Peoples’ Day) – the second Monday in October

  • Veterans Day – November 11

  • Thanksgiving Day – the fourth Thursday in November

  • Christmas Day – December 25

If a holiday falls on a weekend, it is typically observed on the nearest weekday (either the preceding Friday or the following Monday).
